Geothermal Heating & Cooling Systems
High Oil Prices Breaking Your Budget? We can help!
An environmentally-friendly geothermal heating system may be the answer to your high heating costs. According to the EPA, geothermal systems are "the most energy-efficient, environmentally clean, and cost-effective space conditioning systems available today." A geothermal heat pump only uses electricity to move heat, not produce it.
Open-Loop System
Includes a groundwater well (or wells), a water well pump, piping and a heat pump installed in the structure. Groundwater is pumped out, circulated through the heat pump where heat is extracted or injected, then re-injected back into the same well or a dedicated return well.
Closed-Loop System
An antifreeze solution circulates through a continuous loop of plastic pipe installed in a drilled well, horizontal trench, or surface water body. Heat is injected into or extracted from the antifreeze by the heat pump, then the fluid is re-circulated back through the ground loop.
Advantages of Geothermal Systems
Savings
Cut heating and cooling costs by 50% and provide hot water for free or at substantial savings.
Durability
Protected from harsh outdoor weather — the heat pump is housed indoors and the loop is underground.
Low Maintenance
Fewer mechanical components means more reliability. The ground loop lasts over 50 years with no maintenance.
Cleanliness
Minimizes environmental problems like acid rain, air pollution, and the destruction of the ozone layer.
Low Noise
No exposed, noisy outside units. Operates quietly without disturbing you or your neighbors.
Conservation
Uses the earth's moderate ground temperature to heat in winter and cool in summer.
Health
Keeps indoor air cleaner and free of pollens, outdoor pollutants, mold spores, and other allergens.
